How do I type pinyin tone marks?
Type each syllable followed by its tone number, 1 to 4, and the tone mark is added to the right vowel. For example ni3 hao3 gives nǐ hǎo and Zhong1guo2 gives Zhōngguó. Use 5 for the neutral tone, as in xie4xie5 (xièxie).

Which vowel gets the tone mark?
