How do I use this Arabic keyboard?
Type on your normal keyboard and each key types the Arabic letter shown on that key on the on-screen keyboard: for example, sghl gives سلام. The text is written from right to left. You can also click or tap the keys on the on-screen keyboard. When you've finished, press Copy to copy your text.
Which layout does it use?
The standard Arabic (101) layout used on most computers. For example, H is ا, F is ب, J is ت, G is ل and B types لا.
How do I type the short vowels and the shadda?
Hold Shift: Shift+Q gives a fatha (َ), Shift+E a damma (ُ), Shift+A a kasra (ِ), Shift+X a sukun (ْ) and Shift+` a shadda (ّ). Shift+W, Shift+R and Shift+S give the tanwin forms ً ٌ ٍ. Type the vowel mark straight after its letter.
How do I type hamza forms and other letters?
Shift+H gives أ, Shift+Y إ and Shift+N آ. ء is on X, ئ on Z, ؤ on C, ة on M and ى on N. For punctuation, Shift+K gives the Arabic comma ، and Shift+/ the question mark ؟.
How do I mix Arabic and English?
Each line runs in the direction of its first letter, so a line that starts with an English word runs left to right. Press RLM at the start of a line to make it run right to left, or LRM to make it run left to right. When a sentence ends with an English word, press LRM after its full stop to keep the full stop beside the word. RLM and LRM are invisible characters, and they are copied with your text.
