How do I use this Baybayin keyboard?
Type Tagalog in Latin letters and it is written in Baybayin as you type. For example baybayin gives ᜊᜌ᜔ᜊᜌᜒᜈ᜔, mahal kita gives ᜋᜑᜎ᜔ ᜃᜒᜆ and Pilipinas gives ᜉᜒᜎᜒᜉᜒᜈᜐ᜔. You can also click or tap the letters on the on-screen keyboard, then press Copy to copy and paste them anywhere.
How are vowels written in Baybayin?
Each consonant already has the vowel a, so ba gives ᜊ. After a consonant, i or e adds the kudlit above (bi → ᜊᜒ), and u or o adds the kudlit below (bu → ᜊᜓ). A vowel on its own is written ᜀ, ᜁ or ᜂ. A consonant with no vowel after it gets the virama ᜔, as in mahal → ᜋᜑᜎ᜔.
How do I type ng and letters Baybayin doesn't have?
ng gives ᜅ. Letters Tagalog borrowed are written with the ones that sound like them: c → ᜃ, f → ᜉ, v → ᜊ, j → ᜇ, z → ᜐ, x → ᜃ᜔ᜐ. A comma gives ᜵ and a full stop gives ᜶.
