How do I use this Hindi keyboard?
Type Hindi words the way they sound, using Latin letters, and they are written in Devanagari as you type. For example namaste gives नमस्ते, bhaarat gives भारत and kyaa haal hai gives क्या हाल है. You can also click or tap the letters on the on-screen keyboard.
How do I type long vowels and special letters?
Double a vowel for its long form: aa → ा, ii or ee → ी, uu or oo → ू. Capitals give the retroflex letters: T → ट, D → ड, N → ण, Sh → ष and R → ड़. Use M for ं (as in maiM → मैं), ~ for ँ and | for ।.
Why are some consonants joined together?
Consonants typed one after another are joined into a conjunct, as in namaste → नमस्ते. Where Hindi writes the letters separately, type the a between them: laRakaa gives लड़का.
