How do I use this Punjabi keyboard?
Type Punjabi words the way they sound, using Latin letters, and they are written in Gurmukhi as you type. For example sat srii akaal gives ਸਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ and paMjaab gives ਪੰਜਾਬ. You can also click or tap the letters on the on-screen keyboard.
How do I type vowels and ੰ?
After a consonant, aa → ਾ, i → ਿ, ii or ee → ੀ, u → ੁ, uu or oo → ੂ, e → ੇ, ai → ੈ, o → ੋ and au → ੌ. M gives ੰ or ਂ, whichever suits the vowel before it: paMjaab → ਪੰਜਾਬ, maiM → ਮੈਂ.
How do I type double letters and special letters?
Type a consonant twice for ੱ: pakkaa → ਪੱਕਾ. r, h and v straight after a consonant join under it: srii → ਸ੍ਰੀ. Capitals give T → ਟ, D → ਡ, N → ਣ, R → ੜ and L → ਲ਼. sh gives ਸ਼, z ਜ਼, f ਫ਼, Kh ਖ਼, Gh ਗ਼ and | ।.
